THE BENEFITS

What are Modustone worksurfaces made from?
Modustone worksurfaces are manufactured by bonding 12mm thick solid surface sheet (Acrylic Polymer, Hydrated Alumina, Aluminium Hydroxide & Aluminium Trihydroxide) to a moisture resistant 28mm (for 40mm worktops) MDF lattice frame. This tried and tested manufacturing technique is widely recognised as the best way to ‘build up’ a stable properly supported Solid Surface worktop and helps to eliminate the potential delamination problem that can be experienced by thinner ‘solid surface’ laminated worktops.

How long will a Modustone worktop usually last?
With the same colour and pattern throughout its 12mm surface thickness your Modustone worktop can quite easily last a lifetime, if maintained correctly.

Can I scratch or cut my Modustone worktop?
Your Modustone worksurface is designed for long term use. However, as with all worktops, you should never cut directly onto the worksurface. Should you scratch your worksurface you will be able to remove any scratches following the standard maintenance and care guide. We always recommend that you use a chopping board for any cutting or chopping.

Can I put a hot pan on my Modustone worktop?
Whilst our worktops are heat resistant to 180°C they are not heat proof. It is recommended that to help prevent heat damage, you should always use a trivet or worktop saver/heat proof pad to protect your surface.
Hot pans, toaster ovens and frying pans should always be placed onto a heat pad and never directly on top of the worksurface.

How do I clean my Modustone worktop?
Soapy water, for day to day cleaning; with a non marking scourer for any hard to remove stains.
A mild abrasive cream; such as Cif Cream, will remove most minor marks that cannot be removed by soapy water.

Is a Modustone worktop repairable?
Accidents can happen so it is reassuring to know that your Modustone worktop can be repaired and renewed (subject to damage level).  However, we always advise our customers that prevention is easier and better than cure & that they maintain their worktops as recommended.
